Recently I realized I needed to do something different for myself… so I decided to go much lighter with my hair than my usual deep red - as in Blonde. This isn’t the first time mind you and I was VERY Goldilocks as a child but it’s been a long time.
I started yesterday. It took all night and I’m still not done. So far I have achieved the ‘orange’ stage of the going lighter process… yay for red hair! *sarcasm* I had to strip the original dye deposits from the majority of my hair (non-bleach method which I must say was very easy on the hair, no breakage what-so-ever) and hope the roots would lift enough to blend in… which it did but the stripper did a really great job pre-lightening the rest… too good actually. So, now I have a really nice golden apricot color on my roots and a mess of orange/white/blonde on the other 90%. *sigh* Is the nature of lightening your hair when you are a red-head though. I’m debating if I wanna try to find a darker shade like my roots and try to blend the rest… or tempt fate and selectivly bleach strip the really bad orange sections out to see if I can go lighter still. I know the former is the gentler of the two but I am feeling daring these days!
Wish me LUCK (I’m going to need it!)
